In support of education and to ensure that deserving dentistry undergraduates are given equal opportunities, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd will donate S$20,000 towards the National University of Singapore (NUS), Faculty of Dentistry 80th Anniversary Bursary Fund. Recipients of this bursary can expect to receive assistance ranging from a few hundred dollars to S$1800. The donation, like all bursary funds, will be administered by a faculty and recipients will be chosen annually by the faculty members.
“Through organising IDEM Singapore, Koelnmesse has always been a promoter of continuous education. We are honoured to be able to support the young, talented and aspiring dentistry students with the financial assistance that they need to complete their studies, especially during this global economic uncertainty. Our donation of SGD20,000 to the Faculty of Dentistry 80th Anniversary Bursary Fund is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the local community. This is the first in a series of efforts that we will be making as part of IDEM Singapore’s philanthropy programme. We wish to spread the message of hope and importance of education by contributing to the financial needs of young dentistry students in other neighbouring ASEAN countries and eventually to the Asia Pacific” says Mr. Michael Dreyer, Vice President, Asia Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, the organiser of IDEM Singapore.
In addition, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd will also contribute to FDI’s “Sponsor a Window” programme to support their continuous efforts in promoting oral health awareness and development for the less privileged communities. Their numerous projects that are carried out at grassroots level, supporting governments and other organisations in developing appropriate policies, highlights the importance of global partnerships.
IDEM Singapore, organized by Koelnmesse Pte Ltd and the Singapore Dental Association, is the leading dental exhibition and meeting in the Asia Pacific region held biennially in Singapore. The next edition will be held from 16-18 April, 2010. For more information, please visit www.idem-singapore.com.
